Data Analysis

RAMSYS / Core Processes

With lots of data coming from numerous and often very different sources (diagnostic systems, past and present work history, costs, inventories etc..), it’s easy to become overwhelmed and miss important aspects due to data that are rarely integrated.

The quality and reliability of the transferred data represent a crucial issue for any data analysis. That is because if there is one thing that is worse for infrastructure managers than having no data – is having unreliable data. The reason for that being that when infrastructure managers are faced with data unavailability they will try to make use to the maximum of their knowledge and experience, but if they think the data were available, they will most likely use them, and if the data were unreliable or even wrong, the decisions will most certainly be wrong, with more than dire consequences.

With its centralized data storage and analysis, RAMSYS is designed to provide your maintenance staff with all the tools needed to quickly and efficiently analyse terabytes of data. Moreover, RAMSYS supports the validation processes to identified if data are correctly localised or not, unreal measurements or defects are present, etc.

Data Analysis functionalities covered include:

  • Integrated linear visualisation (track diagram view) of infrastructure and other data (e.g. defects, measurements, etc.)
  • Visualisation of measurements by "survey" and by “track”
  • Generation of defects from measurements wit a set of configurable rules

Specific data validation functionalities supported include:

  • Comparison of the localisation of the survey with the localisation of the other surveys
  • Comparison of a survey with measurements from different surveys
  • Possibility to "modify/update" the localisation information
  • Setting a level of validity or reliability to each measurements
  • Generation of validation flags associated with the checked survey
  • Creation of logs listing incomplete and/or inconsistent data

After data have been collected from measuring systems and diagnostic vehicles and other sources, they are ready to integrated together they are ready to be used for analysis.
