
Using the latest no-contact optical technology, the chord-based TGS measures and computes track geometric parameters at speed of up to 320 km/h (200 mph). TGS allows real-time track geometry analysis and production of exception reports. Chord-based TGS is fully compliant with international standard EN-13848.

Inertial-based TGS, branded Laserail™, is a non-contact track measuring system with GPS navigation and Dual Optical Measurement Boxes to measure, record and analyse the track geometry. The system, that is fully compliant with the EN-13848 international standard, offers highly accurate measurements at speeds of up to 360 km/h (244 mph) with real time report of exeptions. Inertial-based TGS is also available in "compact version" for integration on hi-rail vehicles and measuring speed of up to 80 km/h (50 mph).

With the advances in electronics, component reliability and wireless technology, it is now possible to have a full geometry measurement system that operates autonomously on a host vehicle while the host vehicle is in normal revenue service.
Track data is automatically transferred via cellular or WiFi networks to a central data center where it is processed and key information is reported to the proper areas. The operation is automatic and the results are comparable to the data from a dedicated geometry measurement car. The main difference is that the data can now be available as often as the host vehicle runs the track.
The unattended TGS can operate at speeds up to 360 Kph and provides the same measurement capabilities of the manned inertial-based TGS. Standard measurements meet the European Track Geometry Quality standards EN 13848-1 and EN 13848-2, as shown below.

Contact TGS, branded RAILCONTROL™, is a mechanical measuring system allowing low speed contact-based evaluation of track's geometry parameters. The system that can be installed on any railway vehicles even if it has been particularly designed for tamping machines application being certified for Plasser and Matisa seamless integration.

A light weight, carbon fiber manual track geometry measurement device, LineCheck allows for easy transfer between different measurement points. Using the three point measurement method (chord-based), the system offeres the accuracies reported in the table below. A portable computer or PDA (Portable Digital Assistand) takes care of the final elaboration, the reorts and the measurements storage.
