Train Profile

The need to control train integrity before a tunnel input is motivated by the need of arresting rolling stock on time in presence of any fault.

Objects protruding from trains can be extremely dangerous for the passengers and the infrastructure. Laser technology associated to high sampling rate disrupts detection algorithm. This gauge interference detection is associated with traditional video surveillance techniques, able to acquire digital images sequence of train set.

3D Scanning

The acquisition of the 3D profile of the train, carried out by means of laser triangulation with high resolution cameras, can acquire train shape up to 300Km/h. Collected data is processed by a dedicated algorithm that is able to compare the acquired profile with thresholds determined according to UIC 505, identifying irregular train shapes exceeding the allowed clearance area.

Train Gauge

The system is able to measure the train gauge when passing at any measuring speed on the railway lines. The laser and camera allow to monitor the gauge exceedances and visualize problems in reports and graphical user interface. The system can be used both for simple track or double track checking.
