The MERMEC Group launches its new brand

The MERMEC Group announced, at InnoTrans 2008, that is launching a new brand for all its businesses worldwide. Beginning in October 2008, the Group's product and service portfolio, that has been organized in 4 strategic areas.

Berlin, Germany - The MERMEC Group announced, at InnoTrans 2008, that is launching a new brand for all its businesses worldwide. Beginning in October 2008, the Group's product and service portfolio, that has been organized in 4 strategic areas (Diagnostic Systems & Vehicles, Advanced Services, Railway Signalling and Steel & Industrial Applications), will be offered internationally under the new "MERMEC Group" umbrella brand.

This launch is part of a growth strategy designed to broaden the offering and distribution of products and services to the MERMEC Group's target rail and steel markets worldwide. "The new logotype is not specifically related to railway images or topics, and it has been developed to be minimalist, elegant and innovative", says Pietro Stama, Marketing Director for the MERMEC Group, "It represents a stylized globe that expresses the global reach of our activities as well as the perfect match of our companies' competences and know-how (the perfect shape). We have created a global master brand for the Group and we have aligned the Group's companies' brands closely with the master one".

Today the MER MEC Group is comprised of MER MEC (Italy), Tecnogamma (Italy), Imagemap (USA) and Inno-Tech (France). All the companies bring to the Group an important past and standing within the railway and steel industry. Therefore, the objective has been to maintain the individual legal standing of each company, and to rationalize and market the resulting product portfolio under the new "MERMEC Group" umbrella. "The clear goal, from the very beginning of the concept development process", continues Pietro Stama, "has been to create a single-minded, strong, new brand while maintaining the local brands' value, due to their brand recognition and high value". The companies will complete the migration to the new internal and external image by the beginning of 2009.
