IRSTurkey 2008 - 2nd International Railway Symposium and Exhibition

Instanbul, Turkey - The 2nd International Railway Symposium and Exhibition in Istanbul represents a clear mirror of the dynamism of the Turkish Railways and provide the occasion to exchange information on techniques and applications of railway technology and railroad safety and to encourage international co-operation in the field of railway development.

Turkey is currently engaged in major rail projects which include the construction of the Marmara tunnel linking Europe and Asia and the new high speed line between Ankara and Istanbul.
The certification of the new high speed line has been realized thanks to the measurements effected through MERMEC Group's systems and technologies installed on board of the "Treno prova Alta Velocità" (ETR500 RFI) and it has shown, during the tests in line, that is possible to operate at more than 300 Km/h, a record speeds for rail transport in the Middle East.
With this important role in the Turkish railway development MERMEC Group could not miss the occasion to be present at the event.
